Watch the vid – CITIZEN: Polygon Turn Demo to see the process. It’s really not a complex idea, but probably took a million man hours to synchronize the turret and spindle to cut flats like that. Geez, brilliant. All of the mill operators at our shop should just fire themselves.

Its all about the speeds on both cutters to syncronize for how many flats you want spit the cutting tools faster will produce more flats!!! vice versa!!!!

I think you mean “Turret thingy” and all that would happen is a “twisted” part. Not physically twisted but it would have that appearance.
