    With the skew chisel u r useing, what would be the maximum diamiter of wood , that u could safely cut? After watching this video I was doing great, then I had some pretty scary catches with a 3 to 4 inch diamter piece.

    Thanks for your question – as a rule for smaller projects like this, also the honey dipper, I like to use Poplar. It’s pretty inexpensive, soft, and easy to turn !
